Incident 03 June 2008

An 8m sailing boat with two POB, on passage from the west coast of Scotland to Norway, reported to be in difficulty with presumed engine problem “limping” in towards Cromarty. Team members alerted to monitor progress vessel from off Whiteness Head to Cromarty harbour.

No requirement for L/B since conditions good and no request for such assistance received. Crew checked engine and prop condition in harbour before proceeding with voyage. Team member checked SOLAS equipment prior to its departure.
