Training 20 November 2008
A chilly and windy evening greeted the team on the last training night in November. The temperature dropped to around 2ºC and there was snow in the air, as we faced a wind gusting Force 7.
There was a full turnout of those available, and the Sectot Manager was present for a team individual and training review.
A quick rope and knot refresher, and a stretcher exercise – which must have proved baffling to our newest recruit – and then outside to rig for an immediate rescue.
Training in the dark, with cold and wind is useful. It reminds us that when we do these things for real, we don’t decide the conditions.
An enjoyable nights training – slightly marred for the writer, by being told we needed to establish a website. [Which is here!]
We’re looking to organise a social for the team members in December.
