Incident 07 August 2010

Red flare – two independent sightings.  Cromarty CRT Station Officer spoke with first informants whilst  North Kessock ILB searched for signs of any casualty within the Fortrose and Fort George area of  the Moray Firth.  No evident of a casualty was found.  It is believed that the flare was launched during a bonfire party on Fortrose Beach.  Those responsible for it’s launch were sought in order to discourage  any repetition of such an irresponsible action which constitutes an offence in law.  Bonfire site located but no persons found.
